Article Retraction & Withdrawal

Jurnal Inovasi Fisika dan Edukasi (Journal of Physics Innovation and Education) is committed to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the scientific record. Therefore, the journal adopts strict policies regarding article retraction, withdrawal, and corrections, based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Retraction Policy

An article may be retracted after publication under the following circumstances:

  • Evidence of plagiarism or copyright infringement

  • Data fabrication or falsification

  • Ethical violations in research or authorship

  • Duplicate publication in another journal

  • Major errors that invalidate the conclusions

Retraction will be issued by the editors, sometimes at the request of authors or institutions. A retraction notice will be published and linked to the original article, clearly stating the reasons for the retraction. The original article will not be removed but will be digitally watermarked as “Retracted” to preserve the scientific record.

2. Article Withdrawal (Before Publication)

Authors are not allowed to withdraw submitted manuscripts that are under review or already accepted without valid reasons. If authors wish to withdraw their manuscript:

  • A formal written request must be submitted, signed by all authors, and stating the reason for withdrawal.

  • Withdrawal is only allowed before peer-review is completed or in early stages of revision.

  • Unethical withdrawal (e.g., simultaneous submission elsewhere without notification) will result in blacklisting the authors for future submissions.

3. Corrections and Errata

  • Minor errors that do not affect the overall findings (e.g., typographical mistakes or author name corrections) may be corrected by publishing a correction notice.

  • Major corrections that affect interpretation or data presentation will be handled transparently, and the revised article version will be made available.

This policy is enforced to ensure transparency, academic accountability, and ethical publishing within Jurnal Inovasi Fisika dan Edukasi, which publishes biannually in June and December. The journal reserves the right to take necessary actions to maintain the trust of the academic community.
