Publication Ethics
Jurnal Inovasi Fisika dan Edukasi (Journal of Physics Innovation and Education) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher. The journal follows the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
- Duties of Authors
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must submit original work and properly cite the work of others. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.
- Authorship: Only individuals who have made substantial contributions to the manuscript should be listed as authors. All listed authors must approve the final version and consent to its submission.
- Data Integrity: Authors are responsible for the accuracy of data, methods, and analysis presented in the manuscript. Fabrication or manipulation of data is unethical.
- Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation of the findings.
- Multiple Submissions: Manuscripts must not be submitted to more than one journal at the same time.
- Duties of Editors
- Fair and Objective Decision: Editors evaluate manuscripts based on their scientific merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope, without discrimination.
- Confidentiality: Editors must maintain confidentiality regarding all manuscripts submitted and must not use unpublished materials for personal advantage.
- Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest.
- Publication Decisions: Editors are responsible for the final decision regarding publication, based on peer-review feedback and editorial judgment.
- Duties of Reviewers
- Confidentiality: All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
- Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively, with constructive feedback and without personal criticism.
- Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work not cited by the authors and report any ethical concerns, including plagiarism or duplicate submission.
- Timeliness: Reviewers should complete reviews within the agreed timeframe or notify the editor if more time is needed.
- Duties of the Publisher
- The publisher is responsible for ensuring that the editorial team upholds ethical standards in line with COPE principles.
- The publisher shall cooperate with editors to investigate any allegations of misconduct and to take appropriate action when necessary, including issuing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern.
This ethical policy applies to all articles submitted to Jurnal Inovasi Fisika dan Edukasi and aims to foster a transparent, credible, and accountable academic publishing environment in the fields of physics and physics education.
